Sony RX1

I swore that it would have never happened. That an entire year with a daily shot and post in agenda was already enough, that my life under the light spot would have been an artistic project if done just once, otherwise it would have been plain exhibitionism.

Well, I guess I could say “Ops, I did it again”.

But this new project isn’t just a replica of the previous 365(+1) Days of NEX-7. It can’t be for the sake of challenge.

The first big news is that Sony is supporting this blog and I will work with their new top professional compact system, the RX1. I sincerely find it great that such a major company would help a blogger to share his work and passion. And it also puts this blog on a completely new position from where the old one, totally self-produced, was. Now I’m even more motivated to produce some good work.

The second drastic difference is about the contents. I feel that I somehow already performed the “personal photo journal”, so in this project I want to focus more on the artistic/technical aspects of photography, and I will do it by exploring twelve themes/subjects, one for each month. Thirty days to produce thirty images on a subject, twelve months to explore twelve subjects, all with the same camera and the same lens: 365 Days of RX1 – one camera, one lens, 12 projects.

Besides these two big differences, the rest stays the same. Another year with the camera around the neck everyday, and with our daily appointment to share our thoughts. I’ll do my best to keep up the good work and I really hope you’ll enjoy it even more than you did with the 365 (+1) Days of NEX-7.

So long, fellas, let’s start doing photography.

  1. YAY! This should be pretty interesting, now locked down to one camera AND one lens! Are you going to be using the new EVF for the RX1?

    1. Yeah, I got the EVF too. it is really nice, and I love the fact that it can be tilted, people never guess I’m framing them, and the leaf shutter makes each shot totally silent…

  2. Congrats on the new project. I was enjoying the Nex series since I also have a NEX-7. But the RX1 is a pretty awesome looking camera also. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
