There are a couple of nice things of having a flu. First of all I don’t have to go to the office. Secondly, I don’t have to worry if I can’t follow my agenda. Thirdly, I can wear my flu-suit all day long, that is, slippers, sweatsuit, and pile sweater. Fourthly, I can have as many naps as I feel like. Finally, I get to spend more time with my daughter Agata. Unfortunately, I’m not anymore in the age in which being sick meant laying on the couch, watching horror movies, playing video-games and reading comics all day long.
So, the flu is still here, my bones ache, my head pulses, my stomach stays unpredictable. But, besides this, I work fine. Photography, however, is a bit difficult, since I don’t really have the energies to perform any of the ideas I get. And I’m slow too, so I miss most of the “house life” shots I try to take.
But when the night comes and, after a whole day spent together, Agata goes to sleep, I find the energy and time to take this shot. The place is lit by the night-light I shot several day ago and only the f1.1 nokton allows me to shoot without a tripod, even if I have to hand-hold the lens to focus closer than the natural shortest focus distance. I got used to the operation, so it isn’t much of a problem.
