Our studio is finally ready. Yesterday we received the last prints, today we framed them and now they’re hanging on the wall. We made a line of six frames on the long wall, plus a vertical frame on the staircase. The studio now looks like a showroom, and we even put a plexiglass plate out of the door with our logo on it. Rossini Photography finally has a physical place, so please, come and visit us 🙂
About the prints, they look stunning. And it’s not just because the photos are good (cause they are!), but also (and much) because they were wonderfully printed on luxury matte fine art paper. Claudia brought our files to a highly professional printing laboratory lab, Soluzioni Arte, and they did an amazing job.
While at the lab I had a little chat with one of the guys. I happened to know that they recently printed, with the author Josef Koudelka, the whole set of 109 40×50 prints for “Zingari” (gipsies), which is currently exposed at Spazio Forma in Milan.
Koudelka is my favorite photographer, especially for the work he did in the 60’s about the gipsy community in Europe. There is one photograph in particular, the one with the man “chatting” with his horse, that to me is one of the top photos ever taken.
So, it doesn’t mean anything and yet it thrills me that the photographs now hanging on our studio walls were printed in the same place, by the same people and with the same machines than the incredible photos of my favorite photographer.
